Smashed Avocado On Toast

When avocados are in season, there’s no better way to start the day than with classic Smashed Avocado On Toast. Creamy, tangy, and topped with your favourite extras, this simple recipe is quick to prepare and endlessly customisable.


Ingredients:

  • 2 slices wholegrain bread, toasted

  • 1 ripe avocado

  • Juice of ½ lemon

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Optional toppings: chilli flakes, feta, poached egg, or fresh herbs


Method:

  1. Scoop avocado into a bowl and mash with lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

  2. Spread generously over warm toast.

  3. Add your favourite toppings and serve immediately.


Pro Tips:

  • Use day-old bread and toast it well — sturdier bread holds toppings better.

  • Mash avocado just before serving to keep it bright green.
