Impress your guests with this juicy, tender honey-glazed ham, perfect for your Christmas Celebrations. Sweet, sticky, and full of flavour, this dish is a show-stopping centerpiece.

Ingredients:

  • 1 fully cooked bone-in ham

  • 1 cup honey

  • ½ cup brown sugar

  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard

  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar or orange juice

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp ground cloves (optional)

  • ½ tsp ground ginger

Method:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 160°C. Place the ham in a large roasting pan with the flat side down.

  2. Prepare the Glaze: In a small saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves (if using), and ginger. Heat over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

  3. Score the Ham: Using a sharp knife, score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern. This allows the glaze to penetrate and flavor the meat.

  4. Bake the Ham: Brush the ham generously with the glaze, covering all sides. Cover the ham loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes per kilo, or until the internal temperature reaches 60°C.

  5. Add More Glaze: During the last 30 minutes of baking, remove the foil and brush the ham with additional glaze every 10 minutes. This creates a sticky, caramelized crust.

  6. Rest and Serve: Remove the ham from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve with the remaining glaze on the side for extra flavor.

Pro Tip: Garnish your ham platter with orange slices, fresh herbs, or cranberries for a christmas touch.

This honey-glazed ham is sure to be the star of your holiday meal, offering the perfect balance of sweetness and savoury goodness.
