Christmas Tarts

These cute mini tarts are a festive favourite, perfect for a sweet treat for Christmas Day. These mini Christmas tarts are a delicious mix of traditional flavours and creamy indulgence—perfect for celebrating the season!



Ingredients:

  • 12 mini pastry shells (store-bought or homemade)

  • For Fruit Mince Filling:

    • 1 cup spiced fruit mince

    • 1 tbsp orange zest (optional)

  • For Custard Filling:

    • 1 cup custard (prepared and chilled)

    • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Optional: Icing sugar for dusting


Method:

  1. Prepare Pastry Shells: If using raw pastry, press into mini tart pans and bake according to package instructions until golden brown. Let cool completely.

  2. Prepare the Fillings:

    • Fruit Mince Filling: Mix the spiced fruit mince with orange zest for extra flavour.

    • Custard Filling: Stir vanilla extract into the custard for a richer taste.

  3. Assemble the Tarts:

    • Fill half the pastry shells with fruit mince and the other half with custard. Smooth the tops with a spoon.

  4. Optional Garnish:

    • For fruit mince tarts, add a star on top if you're making your own pastry and sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg on top.

    • For custard tarts, dust with icing sugar or top with a raspberries.

  5. Serve: Arrange the tarts on a festive platter and serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
